Description
Saint Peter was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ and one of the first leaders of the Early Church. According to Christian tradition, Peter was crucified in Rome under the emperor Nero. He is traditionally the first bishop of Rome and the first Patriarch of Antioch in the Eastern Christian tradition. Take a look at our bronze Saint Peter sculpture. This famous Saint Peter sculpture is perfect for a garden or some public place.
The ancient Christian churches all canonized Peter as the Great Saint and the founder of the Antioch church and the Roman diocese, but their attitudes to the authority of their successors varied. According to Catholic teaching, Jesus promised Peter a special place in the church. In the New Testament, Peter appears repeatedly and prominently in all four gospels and acts. He was the brother of St. Andrew, and both brothers were fishermen. Mark, in particular, is traditionally to show the influence of Peter’s preaching and eyewitness memory. The New Testament also includes two general epistles, 1 Peter and 2 Peter, traditionally attributed to him, but modern scholarship generally rejects the authors of both. However, a growing number of scholars have resumed Peterlin’s authorship. The New Testament gives Peter his original name Simon. In only two paragraphs, his name is spelled “Simeon”. The change may reflect “Jews giving a boy and a similar-sounding Greek/Roman name. Today, Saint Peter’s sculpture is one of the most popular sculptures of religious saints. Life-size bronze Saint Peter sculptures are often seen in public spaces.
